Remembering "Jack"

JACK

As we headed down hyonder lane
In the old black Model-T Ford
We saw a movement in the grass
'Twas old Jack Rabbit runnin' along.
The light of the Ford followed his gait
As he went a'runnin at quite a Clip,
His ears were floppin', as his tail following last
Down that yonder lane, he went to roam.
Now this went on for 'bout a mile
Then old Jack, he started to smile.
He knew he had outrun that Ford,
He sat on the step in the church yard.
It's time, the Parson opens the door,
Jack skittered in right on the floor.
To the organ he ran, jumped upon the seat
So his long ears could keep the beat.
If you haven't seen Jack in Church,
I know why. He told me "I become invisibly."
Now, you can't really tell if this story is true,
He knows he left some fur under the pew.
