Tomatoes
There are about 6 small ripe tomatoes left, but not for long. Stay tuned til next year, while I rake the leaves from my Mulberry tree, pray that the perinnial Hibiscus make it through the winter. I also need prayers for my Japanese Primrose and my Hydrangia.
As you can notice, my garden and my little Peewee is my life. My children are off doing their own thing, which I appreciate.
LATER!
DRIP DRY
Have you heard the latest. Since the age of drying clothes outside on a clothes line has expired for the most part, most of us are using automatic clothes dryers to dry our clothing. Seems the machine age is here. We use an automatic dishwasher to clean dishes, an automatic vacuum to sweep our carpet and many other things that do the work for us.
If this keeps up, soon we will able to have a remote by our comfortable, electrically charged massage recliner to do just about everything.
Take this for instance:
I have a dog: push a button to open the door so IT goes outside unaided by other than IT'S four legs and another to allow IT to come back in.
And to feed IT, another button on the remote opens the feed box, pours out the specified amount, then closes it until another button is pushed tomorrow. But what about the water? That one is easy, Go to your favorite Mart store, but a 3 gallon container which has a bowl attached to the bottom. The water flows from the container into the bowl and the dog is watered. Now, I didn't mention giving IT a bath. That's another story.
Has anybody and I'm sure you have, noticed that you don't touch anything but the water when using a public bathroom. Just stick your hands under a faucet and ??????? comes a stream of water unaided by human hands.
That done, there must be a way to dry those hands other than shaking the water off. Right? Well, just look on the wall, there is a shiny machine that has a downward spout attached. Just stick your hands under neath that spout and out comes some warm drying air. But be cautious, stick your head under the spout first to see how many germs from other sources have found a home in the gadget's filter.
Oh well, since I have drip dried my hands and my face, fed my dog, washed and dried my clothe there comes a time when you need to drip dry the whole body. Such is the case RIGHT NOW. bathtub here I come.
If you hear a scream, you will know that something invisible was lodged in the water pipes. Oh Dear, what IS that?
I think I've said enough about the modern day age of machinery.
HAVE A NICE DAY!

Sunshine

Does anyone remember the words to "Sunshine on my Shoulder" or "On the Sunny Side of the Street"? That's what we have today. Beautiful bright sunshine, good for raking leaves.
Remember when? We were "Singin' in the Rain"? I certainly do, couldn't take a step and miss a raindrop. Good for bad hair days.
Well, according to this little joke I found, women can get into an uproar over little things as this husband found out very quickly.
My wife and I were dining in a fancy restaurant one evening and while I was supposed to be looking at the menu, out of the corner of my eye I saw a young woman get up from a table to leave the restaurant. Without really thinking, as men tend to do when a pretty young thing passes, my eyes followed this young woman dressed in a mini-skirt all the way to the exit door.
Going back to the menu, I heard a menacing voice say: "Do you realize what trouble you're in just for looking?

JUST FOR TODAY

In a way I'm anxious for spring to come. A dear friend sent me some perinneal Hibiscus seeds. Several of them rooted and grew to about 6 inches high this summer. Will they make it through the winter. Only God knows.
I do have an Oriental Hibiscus (an inside plant during winter) that gave me a beautiful blossom.

Weather has been so changeable here that from one day to the next, it is impossible to know what to schedule day by day. I was able to get some of the tons of leaves racked and put out to the street for the leave vacuum to come along and take them away with one big whoosh. What I have put out, is just a itty, bitty sample of what there is left already on the ground..
However, my big job will come near the end of the month when my Mulberry tree drops its foliage.
Well, for today, better get on with my quilting. Someday, I'll post a blog about the experiences with quuilts the last 3 years. Love It!
Love you all!

TODAY'S WHISPERS
Within these folds a tender message and a loving word to say:
This year I'm making for 3 grandchildren. The first is a spin-off of Sun Bonnet Sue for the youngest, the second is Transformers for my grandson and the last is for my older grandchild in the same family. It is a musical quilt. She is first chair flutist in her school's concert band. Last Christmas, the school took them to Germany to perform. What a thrill!
TODAY'S INSPIRATION, PSALM 36
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sin lurks deep in the hearts of the wicked, forever uring them on to evil deeds. They have no fear of God to hold them back.
2. Instead, in their conceit, they think they can hide their evil deeds and not get caught.
3. Everything they say is crooked and deceitful, they are no longer wise and good.
4. They lie awake at night to hatch their evil plots, instead of planning how to keep away from wrong.
5. Your steadfast love, O Lord, is as great as all the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches beyong the clouds!
6. Your justice is as solid as God's mountains. Your decisions are as full of wisdom as the oceans are with water. You are concerned for man and animals alike!
7. How precious is Your constant love, O God! All humanity takes refuge in the shadow of Your wings!
8. You feed them with blessings from Your own table and let them drink from Your rivers of delight.
9. For you are the Fountain of Life; our light is from Your Light.
10. Pour out Your unfailing love on those who know you! Never stop giving Your salvation to those who long to do Your will.
11. Don't let these proud men trample me. Don't let their wicked hands push me around.
12. Look! They have fallen. They are thrown down and will not rise again.

My Comment: Does verse 12 mean that He has struck down the evil ones?
